I feel like I have been going non-stop for the past couple of days. I started classes on Monday. I soon realized that if I kept up my schedule I wouldn't be able to work much at all, so that was something I had to tell my boss last night. I was signed up for three courses that were quite reading intensive, and two classes that would give me problems or that I would have to study quite hard for to pass (a math class and Macroeconomics). I really wanted to get into the second first-level French class, but there was only one and it was full quickly. BUT I got lucky! I checked last night when I came home from work and there was a spot open. I didn't bother to check anything, I just snapped it up. I dropped my American History class for now (it was on the same day, but later) because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it all.

Next week is my last week at work where I'll work any days Monday-Thursday. I can only work nights, which will tire me out, and I will have absolutely no time for knitting (gasp!) if I keep it up. So something has to give.

And lastly (bewarned - a little bad language ahead), I have to say that what is going on down south from H. Katrina is a sad, sad thing. We got out when we could, moving up here in February from the FL panhandle (okay, so in the military you don't have a choice if you move, but that's just a detail). Ivan was enough for me, and this was much much worse. While it doesn't surprise me (not much surprises me in today's world), what REALLY pisses me off is these damn looters!!! They should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!! So any looters reading this - I'm a firm believer of "what goes around comes around," so what your backs. It is just ridiculous that people were not just taking necessities. They said on the news that he saw one person with boxes of sneakers! What are you going to do with those in flood waters?

Anyway....in knitting news, my latest scarf from Scarf Style is coming along nicely. I think I've done about five repeats of the pattern and I'm happy with it. I'm not going to take a progress pick yet because it's pretty much just the same as the last one I took, but bigger. It will get worked on tomorrow while I'm waiting for Michael's back surgery to be over. We're heading up to Bethesda tonight because he has to be there at 5am tomorrow morning.
